Backcountry trail rides and vacations with Bull River Adventures (formerly Total Outdoor Adventures) explore some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world, featuring rivers, forest, alpine meadows, and mountain passes. Travelling over rugged terrain, you will be amazed at the sure-footedness of our mountain horses that have all been specifically chosen for this type of excursion.
Bull River Adventures specialises in half-day, full-day and multi-day horseback riding tours. All trips are based out of the main lodge located beside the Bull River. Due to the nature of the rugged terrain, trips are at a walking pace, giving the best opportunity to take in the spectacular scenery and hopefully spot some wildlife!

The gentlest option along the Bull River Valley. Suitable for families (age 6+) and novice/inexperienced riders.
Prices:
Adults: $280pp (2-3 riders) $260pp (4-6 riders)
Solo Rider: $560
Children (Aged 6-18): $240, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Times: Arrive at the Lodge at 9 am for orientation. Depart for a 3-hour tour at 10 am, this includes a 1-hour trailside picnic. Depart from the lodge approx 2:30pm
This is a more strenuous ride requiring some rider ability. Ride the scenic river valley, cross the river and then gain elevation on the mountain for stunning views.
Prices:
Adults: $300pp (2-3 riders) $280pp (4-6 riders)
Solo rider: $600
Children (Aged 6-18): $260, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Times: Arrive at the Lodge at 2:45 pm for orientation. Depart for a 3-hour tour at 3:30 pm. Return to the Lodge at 6:30pm for an organic, grass-fed beef steak dinner. Depart from the lodge by 9 pm.

Times: Arrive at the Lodge at 9am for orientation. Depart for a 5 hour tour at 10am, includes a 1-hour trailside picnic. Depart from the lodge approx 5pm.
A full day ride exploring mountain trails, forests and the Bull River Valley. Includes a hearty mountain top picnic, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. A good level of fitness, riding ability and confidence are required to take on the challenging terrain.
A mountain trail ride to the secluded cabins. Enjoy lunch at the cabins, followed by a hike to the Lookout or Alpine Lake. Saddle up after the hike for the ride back to the lodge. For confident experienced riders who enjoy mountain trails.
A challenging mountain ride that includes steep twisting trails, river crossings, obstacles and portions of the trail where you will need to dismount and lead your horse. Includes lunch and an optional hike to the mountain saddle top. For very confident, experienced riders only!
