Catskiing

Twenty years ago, Island Lake Catskiing ushered in a completely new skiing experience. Unlimited Powder. Amidst the towering peaks of the Lizard Range, Island Lake snowcats ferried skiers to the top of countless runs of untouched powder within their 7000 acre of private wilderness preserve. The skiing goes on forever. The ultimate winter skiing experience for you and a close group of friends.

In recent years two additional operators in Fernie offer a day of catskiing. Today between these three, skiers access tens of thousands of acres of untouched powder.

Historic Downtown Fernie offers a full range of shopping options; ski and board shops, boutiques, gift shops and, of course, grocery and hardware stores for the basic essentials.
