From twin-fiddle and cello Celtic traditional tunes to swinging jazz and rocking originals, the Quire has a sound you won't hear anywhere else.
Based in Lethbridge, Alberta, Junkman's Quire boasts a unique blend of influences. Bandmembers Megan Brown, George Fowler, Steve Martin, Isaac Neufeld and Tom Scott bring eclectic tastes to the musical party. JQ’s members have performed in classical orchestras, world percussion ensembles, fiddle groups, metal, rock, Afro-Celtic and country bands and even a Russian balalaika orchestra.
Junkman's Quire writes carefully crafted songs that have received recognition at the South Country Fair songwriting competition (winner in 2013, runner-up in 2017) and the Ship and Anchor songwriting contest (shortlisted in 2016). JQ also puts the bling into bilingual and performs in both official languages. Notable past performances include the South Country Fair, the Geomatic Attic, the Lethbridge Folk Club, the Coup de Coeur francophone music festival and Love & Records.
