A quick but challenging hike, easily accessed from town, the main trail begins just off Burma Road winding its way up towards the Moccasin. The trail begins to intensify as it climbs towards the beautiful ridge line. Offering amazing views of the Elk Valley and South Country, Mount Fernie is a rewarding hike. 2-3 hours

An alternative route, a tad longer but more forgiving, was recently built by Fernie’s renowned resident Heiko Socher. The trail begins just off of the power line above Alpine Trails/Parkland Terrace. Benches are strategically placed at amazing viewpoints, and the trail meets up with Heiko’s notorious trail - Heiko’s Trail. 3-4 hours
