About Alpine Enthusiasts
We are a trail riding business providing our clients with an enjoyable outdoor experience through the watershed of the Elk Valley. The area boasts some of the largest big game animals in North America including Rocky Mountain Sheep, Mountain Goat and large populations of Elk, Deer, Moose, and Bear (Black and Grizzly), with ample photo opportunities. We tailor your horse trip to your horse riding experience, and your needs. All trips are private groups of two to ten riders. Our guides have over 20 years experience, so you can feel safe knowing we’ve matched you with the perfect horse for your ride. So come join us for the ride of your life!
- 6 years old is the minimum age- 1 or 2 hour trips only
- Anybody 18 and under is required to wear a helmet, we can provide them but bike helmets are acceptable
- Trips must be booked 24 hours in advance- 2 person minimum
- Maximum weight capacity 250lbs
- A gratuity charge of $5/person is required for groups of 6 people or more
Trail Rides
“The Cedar Pasture” – 1hour- $40.00/person
Ride through the forest along natural elk trails, and back along the Elk River.
“The Beaver Pond” – 2 hours- $65.00/person
Ride through the forest along natural elk trails, see the many beaver ponds and dams, ride by a bald eagles nest, go through ponds and streams and back along the Elk River.
“The River Run” – ½ Day (approx.3 ½ - 4 hours) - $95.00/person- Snack included
Ride through the forest along natural elk trails, see the many beaver ponds, and ride through streams and by a bald eagles nest. Enjoy a snack by the Elk River with a tranquil and peaceful view of Hosmer Mountain as your backdrop, then ride back home along the Elk River.
“Hosmer Ridge Day Trip” – 9am to 4pm - $175.00/person- Lunch and snack included
Through forested areas and up into the alpine along wilderness trails onto Hosmer Ridge. Enjoy a lunch with a beautiful view of the surrounding valley.
Horse Camping Trips – 2 to 5 days- $225.00/day/person
Head into the wilderness of the Rockies, to Strong’s Canyon. Climb from 3200’ to 8200’ into alpine areas with magnificent views. Stay at our beautiful bush camp, all guests stay in a reinforced walled canvas 12’x12’ tent, which sleeps up to 6 people and includes a woodstove, dresser, lamps, covered porch, sleeping bags, pillows and your own fire pit area. Your days include; waking up to a wonderful breakfast and then heading out on one of our numerous day trips, stop for lunch, go for a hike or a swim, enjoy the scenery and then back to camp for a delicious BBQ meal and relax by the campfire.
Great scenery and great food – all inclusive. We cater to vegetarians too!
